i can't believe the year's half over....
i can't believe that i will have a kindergartener in 6 weeks...
i can't believe that i've been a full time SAHM with 2 kids for 7 months...
i can't believe i have my sanity...
then again...
maybe i don't...
and maybe that's exactly what keeps me going.
:)
we have had a busy summer...
lots of guests...
lots of fun...
and it's not quite over...
and i must confess...
i haven't been documenting the big outings/events quite as well as i should be...
rather...
i have been sitting back and enjoying myself...
creating memories instead of documenting them...
and sometimes..
that's how it should be..
but there HAVE been the little things...
the things that make me happy...
the things i can't bear to not remember...
the "oh i have to grab my camera" moments...
the ones i HAVE to be able to look back on...
because one day...
it'll be weird for my two girls to bathe together...
and i'm sure they WILL NOT permit me to take pictures of them naked..
lol...
and i'm sure a trip to the Air and Space Museum to take a look at a BIG piece of their dad's life/career will be "boring"...
those are the things i want to remember ..
bubbles and airplanes...
so...
we have this "Jacuzzi tub" in the basement..
who knows WHY it's in the basement...
although i know a few of my overnight guests that are quite happy that's it's there...
but i, myself, have never had the pleasure of using it...
mostly because i just forget it's there...
and maybe because it would be two whole floors from the hot tub to my bed...
and that just sounds like alot... :)
but my girls...
they OFTEN remember that it's there...
because jaccuzi tub + bubbles = MEGA bubbles...
and what 5 and 1 year olds don't love MEGA bubbles??...
:)
Ayden with a MEGA bubble beard...
Ayden blowing the MEGA bubbles... :)
Lin getting in on the MEGA bubble action...
you just can't beat this time in life... :)
OK, now totally switching gears...
(no pun intended for you pilots out there..tee hee)
we recently took a trip to the National Air and Space Museum...
lots of very cool planes around a HUGE facility...
Ayden is going through her "make-a-funny-face-in-the-camera-at-the-last-minute-to-drive-my-mom-insane" phase...
after threatening her life..
she cooperated..
and she does OFTEN redeem herself by being such a good and patient big sister...
Ok... back to the museum stuff.. *ahem*... :)
they once built prototype space suits and tested them on dolls before building them full size...
they girls thought it would be weird and scary to be sent into space...
i told them they better behave or else that was their next stop...
then i snapped this picture... :)
the crowing jewel in the museum (at least for me) was seeing a real life space shuttle...
it was ginormous!
so big in fact, there was no way to get a full picture of the entire ship... we were too close!
here are the rocket boosters... they we SO intimidating... you could just imagine the force those babies released...
Micah, however, walked around like she owned the place....
i tell ya, over half of my life is spent just trying to find out where that kid is...
but the best/most memorable part of the day was Lin taking the time and effort to explain the importance/significance of the airplanes to the girls...
and they, for the most part, standing there and listening intently...
because they love their dad that much :)

Love the air and space museum. a friend of ours, Thurmon Helped design and or build the rockets to the space shuttle.
ReplyDeleteSydney get the giant bubbles at my parent's house. She loves it. It's the second thing she asks for when we get there. The #1 thing is for my dad to take her fishing. I guess it's a good order of things really. Dirt then bath. The best part - I don't have to do a thing! : )
